A Hard Day's Night
Feb. 19th, 2003 10:53 amWell, after the usual problems involving overtired Parental Units (they get snappish and passive-aggressive and generally unpleasant), the visit and subsequent doctor's appointment went just fine.
It took forever to find parking at the Royal Victoria hospital, and then I got majorly lost trying to find the right pavillion/floor/office and so forth, but eventually I had my appointment, got more blood drawn by a cheerful balding vampire and was sent on my merry way.
Stopped by the bank and very nearly had a coronary on the spot when I saw my account balance. Nothing in there is adding up, and I definitely should have more money in there than I do now. Literally: the math doesn't add up. So I'm going to have to go and talk to one of the nice bank people tomorrow morning, or maybe Friday if I get the day off like I requested (fat chance). There's also a $250 or so debit, which I supposedly pre-authorised. Now, I have three pre-authorised debits a month: one is my phone bill, which cannot possibly be that much, my insurance, which is definitely not that much and which was on the statement anyway, and my car payment, which shouldn't be for another ten days anyway and is for a little over $300. So what the hell is this supposed pre-authorised debit of $250? I certainly never authorised that!
*grumble*
Renewed all my prescriptions, which was yet another Painfully Empty Wallet Moment™, but at least I will be clothed, fed, medicated and all paid for until next Friday. *sigh*
And in about an hour I'll have to leave for work. I don't suppose I need to tell you how much I loathe the prospect of spending another eight hours explaining to people why their cell phone bill is "so high." It's that high because cell phones are expensive! *grr* And no, Bell Mobility does not feel bad about charging so much: they're a big corporation and they don't care about the consumers unless it gets them more money.
I think I'll prepare myself a cup of tea and maybe a crumpet and see if that makes me feel better. Haven't had breakfast yet as I had to be fasting during my doctor's appointment.
