Oh, yeah. It's been very nice having a work infrastructure that lets me take time off without penalties. Given that we'll be losing that in the coming months, it's nice to know I was able to take advantage of it while it lasted.
I know so many people (like you, mostly in the US) who've either crashed and burned completely, or ended up so badly off that they had to move in with relatives (or far worse, when no relatives were to be found) while they were unemployed. I wish everyone could have support systems in place like this one or better, frankly.
