I, too, struggle often to remain in the present. I find myself often looking at the clock and thinking, "When will it be time for x?" instead of putting all of my attention into the present moment. Like you, I'm not sure how to do better at this, but I know that exercise often helps me, so I'm going to start there. Usually, when I'm exercising (even just doing tai chi) or lifting weights, I am absorbed in the sensations of my body. I'm not sure what else I can do, but it's a start.
