I've got a stack of folks in my flist in the Ottawa region (buttongirl, j_v_lynch, cortejo and mikepictor), and of course there's Sandra and Scott. mikepictor's pretty involved with the general + activist community out there, as well as geekdom (biking/politics/theatre/poly/etc) - I'm sure he could give you a rundown. (plus he's just a hoot in general, and worth chatting with)
