My biggest pet peeve is people who are on personal phone calls for most of the shift. You know what? We are busy enough that it's not a good idea to be working the radio and talking on the phone at the same time. It's like driving and talking on a cell. Your attention is divided and you're going to miss something. And that something could be the location of an officer who just hollered on the radio for assistance and now can't repeat it to you because you didn't hear it because you were talking to your boyfriend.
Sorry. I kinda went off there. It just pisses me right off. Even when Richard was here, I hardly ever talked to him while I was at work and when I did, it was either when I was on break or it was a quick call from my console to tell him something important. I see no reason why these people need to be constantly connected to their SOs most of the shift and almost every day.
