Just a little something special

Okay, so I'm awake. Sue me, my head hurts.

I just found out that A. A. Milne's wife's first name was Daphne. For some reason, that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I am absurdly pleased.

So here's a random question for the flist: which Winnie-the-Pooh character are you most like and why? (This question inspired by [livejournal.com profile] borrowedwings' potential new employer)

Are you bored today, Phnee?

Sorry to hear about your aching brains. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Nah, not bored. It's just hard to concentrate on anything "serious," but I haven't been able to go back to sleep, either. :P

So, are you going to answer your own poll? Which Milne character are you most like?

Re: Are you bored today, Phnee?

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Somewhere between Winnie and Rabbit, I think. Possibly a dash of Piglet. :)

That's interesting. You'd think that a percussionist would have more Tigger in her. Yeah, I can see Rabbit in your personality. I think I can see Pooh, as well. I have to confess to a streak of Rabbit myself. I can be an irrascible asshole when I want to be and I'm motivated. Heh heh.

Re: Are you bored today, Phnee?

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
I was tempted to say Tigger, because I *do* get bouncy and all sorts of excited about stuff, but my enthusiasms tend to be focussed and goal-driven. I resemble Rabbit a lot more in that when I *do* get enthusiastic about something I pursue it with a hell of a lot of determination and accidentally ignore people who get in my way. I'm also very fond of having Plans to do stuff.

Rabbit

[identity profile] montecristo.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I know. I've seen that in what you write. That's admirably Rabbit. Heh heh, I wish I had more of Rabbit's drive and discipline and less of his irrascibility and propensity to jump to conclusions.

Re: Rabbit

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Heh. You and me both. :D

I used to think Rabbit was misunderstood when I was little, and that things would turn out much better if people only followed his instructions properly. ;)

Oh bother...

[identity profile] montecristo.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
I think I'm a cross between Owl and Christopher Robin, with a dash of Tigger.

[identity profile] hermione-like.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I had a migraine earlier today too. Must be that kind of day. :/

As far as Pooh characters go, hmmm. I guess I'd say a toss-up between Pooh and Kanga? Maybe with a touch of Piglet thrown in. :)

[identity profile] miseri.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I always had Rabbit pushed at me, because I was born in the year of the rabbit. (And because, I suspect, my mother thought Rabbit's work ethic was something to be emulated.) And I must admit I rather like Rabbit. But I have to say the one I feel the most personal sympathy for is Eeyore. Thanks for noticing me.

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Eeyore is vastly underrated. I always liked him the best, along with Christopher Robin. :)

[identity profile] miseri.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, so very much underrated. Owl may have had intelligence, but Eeyore always struck me as being the wise and considerate one. Also, patient.

I also can't help feeling that sometimes, when he seems to be at his most passive-agressive and gloomy, he's really gleefully poking fun at the others.

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I agree. Eeyore has his tongue planted firmly in his cheek most of the time, I think. Although, at the same time, I'm pretty sure he believes what he says.

[identity profile] elanya.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Eeyore is so Goth ^-^

[identity profile] elanya.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
I wasn't sure, so I asked the internet, and it told me I am mostly Christopher Robbin, with a little Pooh and Roo.

Play Play Play!
ext_7500: (Silly! :))

[identity profile] terredancer.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
I think... *looks down at shirt* Eeyore, likely.

With occasional interludes of Tigger-ness and Piglet-ness.

Oh, I'm so weird. :)

[identity profile] miseri.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Very. I can think of no two characters so far removed from each other as Tigger and Eeyore.
ext_7500: (Silly! :))

[identity profile] terredancer.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I know. But I have my Tigger-ish moments.

Mind, they are very rare.

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, one could always argue tha Tigger and Eeyore are opposite sides of the same bipolar coin...

[identity profile] miseri.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
For some odd reason, I'm imagining the creatures of the Hundred Acre Wood playing "7th Sea". Eeyore's an Ussuran diplomat, and Tigger's a Castillian swordsman....

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
I think you just broke my brain.

Now I'm envisioning Kanga as a Fate Witch...

I miss 7th Sea... ;_;

Although I admire piglet, I fear I more closely resemble owl.

That was me! LJ has been randomly logging me out ALL DAY!!!

[identity profile] owldaughter.livejournal.com 2006-05-28 12:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so a blend of Kanga and Eeyore.

I am so Eeyore

Mostly because he is always a bit okay a lot of a pessimist. I figure it is because of my depression.
