Snow Day

It's not really a snow day. However, I didn't do any shoveling when I got home this morning, so it feels like a snow day (there's like two feet of snow out there!). I am looking out for orange no-parking signs to appear on my street. If they don't appear today, I shall hibernate completely until tomorrow. Otherwise, I may have to go out and move the car to somewhere it won't be towed and I won't get a $92 ticket. It also feels like a snow day because I'm home during the afternoon and there's snow outside. I also have tea.

I need some cleaning fairies. The place got messy again without my noticing. Not sure how that happened. Looking at it, I know I can fix it in a relatively short space of time. I'm going to go to bed early tonight (after sleeping from eight to two thirty today, I think I can get away with that) and get up bright and early tomorrow and do a major houseclean. I have to straighten up the kitchen, and put away the Freecycle stuff that the flakes didn't come to pick up after all. I think I'll put them away and put them up again this summer, when people will be more likely to come pick them up. Winter is a bad time all around. I may put them up for grabs on LJ first, so my LJ friends can get first pick, should they so desire.

I shall be spending today quietly, writing long-awaited posts for Bluebook, and I shall perhaps make stew and watch Babylon 5. Today I am taking OFF. I have had a bizarre week, and I deserve the day to myself. So there.

I highly recommend hibernating for the rest of today. I just got home from the studio, and the walk was officially Not Fun(tm). I really don't want to head back out to run errands and go to the gym, but I'm going anyway, because I took yesterday off. Days off are good.

BTW, I shoveled your steps when I shoveled ours at about 17:30 yesterday, but by the time you got home it made no difference whatsoever.

Wow. Thank you! I shudder to think of how much snow there would have been had you *not* shoveled!

I am definitely hibernating today.

I should send you my boggan. Except he's off at Miranda's today.

Imagine: a little knock at your front door. You open it, and there's no one there -- no, wait: you look down and spy a toddler, all bundled up so that you can see only his eyes, holding a broom in one hand and a dustpan in the other.

"Boom?" he says, and trundles past you into your house, all business. Once there, alas, he drops the broom and becomes completely distracted by chasing cats with glee, pulling books off your shelves, and spilling teacups while investigating the contents.
