Pay will be corrected on my next paycheque. I'll believe it when I see it. Let it be known that I do NOT enjoy arguing with bitchy French women perched on their high self-righteous horses at 8:30 in the morning. Especially when I haven't had any coffee.
Anyway. Squeaky wheel. Grease. So forth.
Have yet to check bank balance. Will likely do so at lunch.
Lots of posting to do for Bluebook.
Posts due for Bluebook:
1- Delaney. Tonight is the deadline for her third and final death (inasmuch as the next time loop will be the last, and thus she won't die). So, two posts today. One for catching up, the other to kill her off.
2- Dickie. Raynes is dead, so he has to react to that. Maybe set up the groundwork for the upcoming JP with Vansen.
3- Dervish. I kinda left that plot hanging in midair. Should come back to it. People hearing voices is always fun.
4- Bradshaw. Everyone's back from the Christmas break, so it's time to get CS1 moving again. I need to conclude the briefing and get everyone through the Stargate.
5- Adrina. Maybe. Not nearly as urgent as 1, 2 and 4. But I like her, and some additional angst might be fun.
Almost finished the first part of Conflation, and Beyond the Pale has stalled because I sort of wrote myself into a corner. I have to write myself back out of the corner and get that posted this weekend.
I've set myself an artifical goal of nine instalments to finish before February. That means that one instalment a day in February will catch me up completely. Of course, I have to write them first.
Mind you, I'm thinking it won't be too hard. The next story arc is the Fifth Horseman arc, for those very few of you already familiar with the adventures of the Posse With No Name, and after that I get to move onto the real beginning of the adventure, which is the River o' Blood plot.
fearsclave in particular ought to have fond memories of that one. ;)
I keep forgetting to mention Capricornucopia. Obviously, I have to work on that as well. Writing a cozy is a lot harder than writing a straight-up police investigation mystery, if you want my opinion. Having to justify why your amateur sleuth is somehow smarter than the police who are trained for this sort of thing is a bit of a stretch. Mind you, the time period does help with the suspension of disbelief somewhat.
If I get out to Alexandria (depending on bank balance), I'll probably take Cleopatra with me. I won't be able to connect to the net, but at least I'll be able to do some writing.
I think that, financially speaking, I may have to wait until the autumn session to take that dispatcher course. That way I can actually put money aside for it, as opposed to bankrupting myself this month. Actually, I wouldn't bankrupt myself, because I have no credit to speak of, but it's money I can't actually produce, so it amounts to the same thing.
I figure if I start putting money aside now, by the time registration rolls around I'll have enough put by to take both courses (and possibly more, if I want to see what some of the courses are like). As much as I hate putting this on hold for something like nine months, I think it may be the only viable solution.
Being broke sucks.
