A quick picture summary of the garden this year
Between constantly losing my camera cable and being really busy at work, I never got around to posting pictures of the garden.
There are a lot, but here's a sampling:
Crocuses! (Croci?) The first sign of spring:

The roses flowered beautifully:

The rhubarb. If you can credit it, this was taken over a month ago:

Cherries! Yum. I need to plan better for these next year, though. I was completely caught off-guard.

This is reflects about 25% of the basil I got this year:

Cherry tomatoes, as of last weekend:

My sad, slug-eaten cucumber. I got exactly two tiny cucumbers this year:

The peppers didn't do very well, sadly:

The Big Beef tomatoes, as of this weekend:

Parts of it were a raging success. The basil and lettuce did really well. Some were okay: the herbs and onions are a little iffy. Some parts just sucked: my garlic disappeared, and the cucumbers and peppers sulked due to slugs and the weather.
Overall I'm pleased with this first effort. There was a pretty steep learning curve, and I'm much more optimistic for next year in terms of planning.
