Same shit, different day
Well, L is back from her vacation in the States, and so now the office is returning to its usual hum of activity.
Part of me is glad she's back, as that means I have someone else to help me handle the crises. Part of me really liked having the office to myself. Heh. Win some, lose some.
It turns out that she's leaving for a whole other week at the very beginning of February, so I guess I'll have more of the same to look forward to.
Dance class tonight. It'll be fun, except for the fact that the blister I got on Sunday is not even close to being healed. So I'm not looking forward to shoving cowboy boots over it and dancing for two and a half hours. Oh well. One must suffer for one's art.
I am the band-aid queen this year. For some obscure reason, I seem to be having some sort of weird reaction to my new (well, not so new anymore) watch strap, which is making the skin crack and peel away on my wrist. It's painful and annoying, and means that I've had to wear band-aids under my watch since early December in order not to lose any more skin. Also, the spots seem to take a ridiculously long time to heal, leaving me with angry red patches on my arms. Very, very annoying.
joane suggested I get some mole skin to line my watch strap, and so I'm going to look into that at some point. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Bluebook proceeds apace. I've posted for both SG4 and SG15, which leaves CS1 as the next priority, followed by my two base staff characters. I also need to ping a bunch of people for JPs. SG4's mission is slowly drawing to a close, wherein we will defeat the nefarious Mackayhotep and escape to fight another day. Last loop in the time-loop scenario, in other words. I'm looking forward to seeing how that will pan out.
Thoughts about 24 will go in another post soonish.

As a temporary measure, you could try painting the underside of the watch band with clear nail polish. I know my mom used to do that with various metal products (earrings, bracelets, etc.) to which she was allergic, and she could wear them without problems after such treatment. Not sure if it would work on non-metal (am assuming your watchband is leather or plastic or some such?), but might be worth a shot until you can get your hands on some better solution.

That's a good suggestion, thanks. My watch strap is leather, with which up until recently I never had a problem. Meh.
Hm...
Re: Hm...
I have no idea what size my watch is, though, so I don't know which one I could choose. It's a small Swiss Army deal, but for some reason nowhere in Montreal do they seem to be selling plastic straps anymore.
I've always had black straps on my watches anyway. I'll keep an eye out in Montreal.
