[livejournal.com profile] drood on writing

So, as many of the fine folks on my flist know, creative writing isn't necessarily always fun. And, for the people who ask us "Why do it if you're not having fun?", my LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] drood has this to say on the topic.

Writing isn't just a pleasant hobby. It's what writers do.

Thanks for the go-here; terribly insightful. (Yay, another writer's journal upon which to spy -- er, I mean work-avoid.)

Yep. And [livejournal.com profile] drood writes amazing posts every time. They're more like essays and carefully-constructed anecdotes of everyday life than just random entries like mine. :)

Good stuff to be had. Plus, you know, insight from another published author.

You're welcome. :)

He's spot-on, and not just for writing but for pretty much any creative endeavour. Catch me at that critical point about 2/3 of the way through any major project, with the cursing and the swearing and the throwing of heavy objects, and you'd think that I was insane to keep doing what I do.

Thanks for the link!

My pleasure.

Creativity is, as most people know, that proverbial 1% inspiration and so forth... :)
