mousme: A view of a woman's legs from behind, wearing knee-high rainbow socks. The rest of the picture is black and white. (Death by shinies!)

Things are quiet... too quiet

The auditors aren't bugging me every two minutes. The CAM is home, and has only been bugging L with her random demands. Everyone else has gone to lunch.

I've actually managed to catch upon all the urgent stuff to do. There's still a mountain of filing, but that was on the back burner for a while.

:::shifty look:::

I wonder if I'll be able to get any writing done? I'm supposed to have dinner out at the Fearsranch, which means I'll be getting home really late again.

I'm having a ton of trouble readjusting to city life, even though I was gone only for three days. Every time I go to the country (or as near the country as makes no difference), I come back a bit recharged, but mostly reminded of how much I don't want to live in a city for the rest of my life.

Of course, the way my finances are doing, I don't think that anything beyond an appartment is realistic for the next few years. :::sigh:::

Sympathy. I know the feeling. When I went on a two-week trip to Alaska & Yukon Territory, years back, it took me almost two weeks to re-adjust to being back in the city. For the first week, I would sit at work, and mutter to myself (and anyone else who ventured near) "I don't want to be here. I don't want to be indoors. I don't want to be indoors under florescent lights in a goddam cubical. I don't want to be sitting in front of a computer screen. I think I'll run away and become a Forest Ranger."

Ping!

Do remember to call before you leave so that Kim can time the chicken...

...and if you think you can manage the commute, or a commute, you're welcome to crash here whenever. In fact, we've got this basement that we aren't using...
