I keep meaning to write a triumphant post...

... and then stuff gets in the way.

I'M BACK!

Cleo is fixed! She is better than ever, except for a slight problem with the clasp which means that she doesn't close as well as before.

It took me four hours to get her running, but I got her up and going, and I'm very pleased. The twits who did the reinstall apparently had their thumbs up their asses so I had to reinstall all the software *sigh* but I got some of my translation work saved at least.

All my roleplaying stuff, all my icons, all my images, all my fiction, all my poetry, is toast.

But, Cleo is intact. She has a new hardrive and a new keyboard. They were able to fix her screen and you really can't tell that it was ever damaged. :)

I spent an hour on the phone with the Sympatico people this morning hooking everything back up, and I'm now online. Two hours later, and I have all my instant messengers working again. *bounce*

Soon I will go and find my LiveJournal client (as soon as I remember what it was called... it had an icon with a pencil and a pen... *scratches head*) and download it. Yay!

The cats are all far away from Cleo. They will never come near her again if I can help it. *growl*

In conclusion: I'M BACK!!!!

*does cartwheels*

Welcome back!

1) Would you like me to e-mail you your Perseity characters, or should I wait a bit for you to get Cleo back on her feet?

2) Would you like to come on Sunday?

Sadly I am spoken for this Sunday, but I will be there next Thursday with bells on.

Sympatico is currently having issues with email, but I would *really* appreciate your emailing me (separately would be best) everything you have about my Perseity characters to my Yahoo address: dbrune4 @ yahoo dot com.

Thanks. :)

No problem; just thought I'd offer despite the late date.

I will email the characters to your Yahoo address sometime today.

W00T!!!! That means a post for Dickie tonight, right? [bats eyelashes seductively]

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2004-02-06 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. :) I'm out for dinner tonight, but when I get back I'll hammer something out. Something terribly Angsty and filled with uncertainty and leading up to a potential weakness Giovanna can exploit mercilessly. ;)

I figure I'll go with the sob story to play on Dickie's protective nature - standing on the bow of the ship, speaking wistfully about being deceived and abandoned far from home... nothing to go back to, no home except the sea... [enter the violins].

Would that work better than the concussion-and-drag-to-cave? :)

Re:

[identity profile] mousme.livejournal.com 2004-02-06 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. He'd probably go for something like that. I was thinking also of having Dickie fighting against his own worst instincts with her. Basically having her bringing out the worst in him and that's why he's avoiding her for the moment, because he really *doesn't* want to go there, knowing what he could do, savvy? ;)

I think we could work something fun out by email... *bounce*

I loooove having my computer back. *purrs at computer*

Will you be online later tonight, say maybe after dinner and all that? I could escape earlier than planned, and we could do a back-and-forth email type of thing and work it out that way.

I'm all a-quiver now. ;)

Re:

[identity profile] joane.livejournal.com 2004-02-06 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
For you, absolutely. If I'm not actively online when you get on, call me... and {{{hugs}}} for other crap. :( If you like, I can find someone to poison a member of Japan so there'll suddenly be an open spot... [whistles innocently].

Hee! Somehow, I have this terrifying feeling you *would* be able to arrange that... O_o

There's been a slight change of plans. I'm home all evening, so I'm working on a post right now. :)

Once it's done I'll send it to you so you can take a look at it, and then maybe you and I can work on that Dickie/Giovanna smut we decided we'd do... *evil cackle*

Congrats!

And I am pretty sure it is "Visions" that you are using, since that is the one with the pencil. are you sure it had both?

Hmm... doesn't sound quite right. It was a client for Mac OS X.
