Passive-aggressive blahness

I hate it when people are passive-aggressive. Yes, I know I'm that way too, but at least I try not to be.

An acquaintance sent an email to several people, and the first line in it is: "(Daphne copied for politeness' sake, as is (other person); either of you are welcome, but I don't expect any replies.)"

*snarls*

Stupid passive-aggressive shit. What can you do in that case? If you don't answer, you're a predictable bitch who has no consideration for others. If you do answer, then you've risen to the bait and given the guy exactly what he wants.

Things like that just make me want to take a large knobbly club with rusty nails to the guy's head.

Me, cranky? Whatever gave you that idea? :P

And no, it's no one from LiveJournal, although I have mentioned him before although not often.

I think the knubbly club may be contrued as a "reply" ;-)

On the other hand, you could add, in a run-around, passive agressive defensive maneuver a reply with a cute little quote about the nature of passive agressives and their influence on the downfall of society. :)

Hmmm. How about replying something like:

[appropriate response to whatever e-mail was about: "I'll be there" or whatever]
"And I'll make more of an effort to answer promptly in the future, since I didn't realize it bothered you! The next time, though, I hope you'll mention a problem to me privately before you bring it up in public."

Or would that be rising to the bait?

He was just being a snarky asshole. He hasn't emailed me in months, so there was nothing to reply to. ;)

We exchanged a few emails today, and otherwise things seem fine. I'm not playing in his game, though. ;)

In the meantime, long time no see, stranger! How've you been?

Oh, I'm okay, thanks. I trust you read about my trip to Dallas, and that was the last truly exciting thing in my life. Or no, I take it back; the Median Sororal Unit arriving and whirlwinding through (and the preceding netoyage of my apartment) was the last truly exciting thing.

Right now I'm just going to work, slowly getting back into going to the gym, and spending waaaayyyy to much time on my two games of Diplomacy. 8^)
