*whine*

I know you're all sick of hearing me whine about my work schedule. I promise, in another month, there will be a new schedule for me to whine about! ;)

I have a Giant List of Things To Do today, none of which I actually feel like doing. I am *tired*. Between night shift and having to go back in yesterday for overtime, I am wiped. What I really want to do is spend all day curled up somewhere with a book. Possibly tea could be involved.

I'm going to see if I can meet myself halfway, at least, and get the place reasonably tidy. Right now it looks like a bomb went off in my front hallway. The rest of the place isn't too bad, luckily. The kitchen needs a bit of TLC, but mostly it's the hallway that's Full Of Stuff.

Just thinking about that To-Do list makes me tired. It's ten miles long, and even though I know I'll feel happier and less stressed when I do it, part of me still doesn't want to.

Meh.

I am going to have breakfast, and then see what I can do about it.

Can you grab a friend to go with you to attend the To Doom list? I find that often helps me. My physiotherapist pointed out to me that the times I'm doing well and accomplishing things, often involve my friends and LMI. (hee! I used LMI for the first time :D )

Alas, my friends have proper nine-to-five jobs for the most part. I have to use what days off I can to get my stuff done. I hear you, though. Doing much of this stuff with LMI's makes it easier and more fun. If I were vastly wealthy I would totally bribe my friends to take a day off (at least!) and join me. :)

LMI?

Okay, I'll bite, what is it?

Both of you are grumping about the season change. How cold is it for you now? Are your leaves all brown, your skies all gray?

It's about four degrees Celsius outside right now. The leaves are yellow and orange and red —absolutely gorgeous. The light is fading around 17:00 these days, too, but the skies vary from that beautiful stark blue that happens on a clear autumn day here, all the way to overcast and gloomy (which is what it's like today).

[livejournal.com profile] catsarah is in Toronto, though, so I can't speak for the weather there.

As for LMI, don't you read [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave's LJ? Like-Minded Individuals. :)

Set aside an hour. For each item on the list, do one of the following things:

* Less than 2 minutes? Do it now.
* More than 2 minutes?
- Write down the very next specific action to get you closer to finishing it. ("Do laundry" is not a specific action. "Gather dark-coloured clothes" is.)
- Write down where that action happens (basement, store, telephone, etc)
* Group the list by location.

Now you have a list of concrete solid things to do and where you need to be to do them. Viewed a different way, you now have a much smaller list of things you can do right away whenever you're in one of those places.

And BTW, no one wants to whine about your work schedule more that meeeee!
