George the Destroyer strikes again

George has killed another modem cable. Someone please remind me why I keep the cats around? Please?

(Repeat to self: I love my cats. I love my cats. I would regret it if I killed them and turned their pelts into rugs. I love my cats.)

Y'all will remember the last time this happened, and the subsequent saga and angry phone calls to Sympatico before the whole thing got resolved.

Luckily I now know the drill. I spoke to customer service, to a nice boy with an unpronounceable name clearly working out of India or a similar country, who promptly and politely put in an order for me. In the meantime I'm working with the replacement power cord I bought back in 2007, which is not ideal but will serve for now.

Cripes.

Get something that George hates to taste, for example tea tree oil and smear it on the modem cable.

I am so tired I actually just now heard you say this, in your voice, in my head. I guess I just miss you.

This is one of the things that I use to keep cord chewing at a minimum; it's easy to use, strong, and too large for the cats to easily get their sharp little teeth around.
