2008 in retrospect meme
This isn't one of the two memes that I always do this time of year, but I liked it, so. Ganked from
readykatego.
1. Where did you begin 2008?
At
sandman7's place, playing board games and drinking with friends.
2. What was your status by Valentines Day?
Single
3. Were you in school anytime this year?
Nope, unless you count RCMP courses.
4. Did you have to go to the hospital?
Actually, no. This may well be the first year in a long time without an emergency room visit (yes, I know the year's not over, hush)
5. Did you have any encounters with the police?
Hee! I work for 'em. Does that count?
6. Where did you go on vacation?
Halifax, Ontario and Paris.
7. What did you purchase that was over $100?
Many things. I moved, and so there were many furniture purchases.
8. Did you know anybody who got married?
Yep!
9. Did you know anybody who passed away?
Yes. :(
10. Did you move anywhere?
I moved downstairs!
11. What sporting events did you attend?
Uh, I was at the Cage Aux Sports for two hockey games. Does that count?
12. What concerts/shows did you go to?
Invisible, Live at Clyde's!
13. Describe your birthday.
I spent the night before at
luvenditti's End of Holidays Lament Potluck Feast, and slept over. On my actual birthday they put up a Happy Birthday sign, made me breakfast, and then
luvenditti took me out clothes shopping, and then to lunch! Good times all around. :)
14. What is the ONE thing you thought you would not do, but did, in 2008?
Uh... nothing stands out. Oh, wait, I climbed a mountain!
15. What have been your favourite moments?
Visiting
joane and
shenlo in Halifax. Climbing Camel's Hump. The Shindig. Many other moments I'm sure I'm omitting due to my brain being fried.
16. Any new additions to your family?
Nope.
17. What was your best month?
They were all pretty good, actually. I really liked March and June.
18. Who has been your best drinking buddy?
tcaptain qualifies for this one, I think.
19. Made new friends?
Many!
20. Favourite night out?
Hurley's Night has become a favourite.
21. Other than home, where did you spend most of your time?
Work! I spend more time there than at home, I think.
22. Have you lost any friends this year?
Yes.
23. Change your hairstyle?
I shaved my head!
24. Have any car accidents?
No, thank goodness.
25. How old did you turn this year?
Twenty-nine.
26. Do you have a New Years resolution?
I haven't thought about it yet. Maybe not, as I'm working on a 101 things in 1001 days list. Then again, I need to re-orient a few things about my life, so maybe I'll add some resolutions.
27. Do anything embarrassing?
Nothing huge, but I have a low embarrassment threshold, so I'm sure I can come up with many things if I really try.
28. Buy anything from eBay?
No, but Amazon featured in my life prominently for the first time ever.
29. Get married or divorced?
Neither.
30. Get hit on?
A bit.
31. Been snowboarding?
No! But I'd like to.
32. Did you get sick this year?
Nothing major. A couple of colds and a weird stomach bug that didn't last very long.
33. Are you happy to see 2008 go?
Not happy to see it go, but happy that it went by and was as good as it was. I'm looking forward to 2009.
34. Been naughty or nice?
Nice for the most part, I think. I hope that people would tell me if I was horrible to them. There's one notable exception to that, but I've already written enough on that topic, and I like to think the responsibility was shared.
35. What are you looking forward to most in 2009?
Taking an ASL course. Getting new people in at work. Turning 30! Starting up my writing again. Doing new and exciting things.
