To the pain!

There was a battle to the death with my acorn squash. It was a close contest, but I won. Sheesh.

The floor guys were half an hour late. I am unimpressed, but at least things are getting done.

I am going to tackle muffins next. I think I won't have time to go out and get Tupperware, but on the plus side for the moment I have enough for what I've made. It's only if I make borscht that I'm going to be in trouble, so the borscht is going on the back burner for now (pun totally intended), and I'm going to make muffins. Apple muffins. Yum. If I can find the recipe, that is.

Until such time as I get my recipe binder in order, I have been slowly copying the recipes I like into an online recipe book at http://wegottaeat.com/. The format is nice and easy, although it's still in beta form in many places, and has a couple of annoying quirks (I can't go back and add words at the beginning of an entry, for instance, and sometimes it leaves spaces where I don't want them), but overall is serving its purpose as a repository until I get myself organized.

I also can't really leave right now, since I appear to have misplaced Gretzky outdoors somewhere. She likes to ramble a fair distance, and I haven't seen her in several hours. God help me if I ever have children. Anyway, while I am trying not to worry about her, I also don't want to leave home until such time as I have her back inside.

If you have a chance to post it, I'd love to see your apple muffin recipe. I like mine, from the Joy of Cooking, but I'd like to try another kind some time.

It's actually [livejournal.com profile] owldaughter's recipe, which I'm taking from here.

:)

Oooh Joy of Cooking is full of win.

I've never tried the Apple Muffin in it tho. I think I shall rectify the situation soon!

I've mostly played with the bread recipes and the croissants (which are good, but very painful to make)
