Technology is not my friend

It appears that my happy new camera can't load pictures onto my computer, because I don't have enough RAM to install the software. Cleopatra, my faithful laptop, is old and crotchety, and didn't come with that much RAM to begin with.

So... computer people out there: is there a way to improve the RAM on a 2002 Mac iBook? Or am I screwed?

The answer is that you probably don't actually need the software! You generally don't - if you connect the camera to the computer (or the card direcly if your laptop is new enough to have a card reader of the right type), iphoto should just be able to read it directly.

I concur. I never bothered loading any software onto our Mac for either of my digital cameras. They Just Worked(tm). You might need to open iPhoto manually the very first time you connect the camera to the computer & turn it (the camera) on.

Yep. It Just Worked, as you said. Thanks!
