Congratulations, you broke it

"[livejournal.com profile] mousme, I need you to fix my boardsheet. I couldn't get the white space out, so I saved it and emailed it to you. Could you fix it?"

*sigh*

I have no idea how to get rid of this entire page of white space in Word. It's like she inserted a page jump (or whatever it's called in English) and then practically hard-wired it into her stupid document. Nothing I've tried works.

*headdesk*

The phone is crazy, I have filing and photocopies piling up, and one of the credit files we need has gone missing.

Someone shoot me now, please.

:::ETA:::

Okay, it's sort of fixed. One of the admin girls and I beat our heads against it for about half an hour, and by dint of a great deal of copying and pasting and deleting and shifting, we've got rid of the damned page jumps.

Now all I have to do is fix all the rest of the formatting nightmare. Spaces where there shouldn't be, three different font sizes in the same paragraph (how does she do it?), and dozens of misaligned columns. Oh, and mangled pagination, and different freaking FONTS in random places.

I actually know that feature, and it never occurred to me to use it. Sheesh.

Probably because you were stressed. It does weird things to the mind. :-) Same thing happens to me.

After spending 7 years as a secretary in the 80's, I have seen all sorts of unformatted documents. Some of them were pretty scary!

I shudder to think.

My second-to-last job had transferred everything from Word Perfect to Word 2000... And I got stuck correcting all the formatting mistakes.
Yeah, it was scary sometimes...
