I really enjoyed the first book in the "Shadow & Bone" series and am not sure why I never read the others. I think it was because I was working at the bookstore at the time and was overwhelmed by all the new stuff and advance reading copies. It's pretty much a standard YA fantasy premise but with some fun world-building and folklore elements. I'm kind of loving the fact that there's so many diverse YA books out there now, especially in the fantasy genre which is my favorite.
