I honestly never quite understood the point of the fancy ones...

However, relevant to this discussion, yesterday I learned that there are crockpots for *cars* :o For long trips and picnics and the like. The guys out on the oil sands (and associated industries) apparently use them to make food while they are working, since their trucks are pretty much always running all the time anyway. The plug into the cigarette lighter. Wacky!
