Taking the wind out of one's sails
Nothing ruins a good bout of righteous indignation like having all of one's problems solved before one even gets to complain about them.
I got into work to an email from my supervisor which said, to all extents and purposes: "Whoops, my bad. We fixed the problem and you can go on your trip now."
I was all ready to rant about it at length, too. I think I can contain my disappointment. ;)
They kind of screwed over Psycho!Blonde at Christmas, but it turns out that if she and I switch our shifts around, it screws me over less than what they originally planned for me. I get to work three night shifts, which isn't ideal, but better than working Christmas Day. Psycho!Blonde will work my two day shifts, and is giving me a day off at the end of January in exchange.
It all works out.
All I need now is for my books to come from Amazon and I will be completely vindicated. ;)
