In unrelated news, while I'm spamming your friends' pages, I just found out that a request has been made to upgrade our operators' pay grade. So in a few years' time (about three years, or thereabouts), I will be making supervisor-level pay, if the request is approved.

Booyah!

Here I was, all happy with my current level of pay, and now I find out it may get even more awesome!

Part of me finds this excellent financial fortune really hard to reconcile with all the financial doom I'm seeing on the news. I mean, has the RCMP just not caught up to reality, or what?
Hrm.

Supervisors also get overtime. However, I wouldn't be a supervisor: it's just my level of pay that would be getting an upgrade. :)

Yeah I've just worked at some shady operations in the past whose idea of a "pay upgrade to supervisor levels" would mean going on to salaried instead of hourly, losing the overtime pay, and still being expected to pull the same hours.
