When I was a kid, my best friend's dad used to tell about a pet skunk he had when he was young and single and living in a trailer in Manitoba. It had its stinker taken out and he'd had it since it was a baby. It acted rather like a cross between a cat and dog, though a bit wilder of course. No one in the area liked that he had it and eventually a local cop shot it. Sad story.
