Dear Body,

I understand that you've had a bit of a shock, because I've lost some weight. I understand that this can mess with established cycles, I do. But come on! Nineteen days? That's just not fair. I am not at all pleased with this latest hormonal hissy fit, although it does explain why I've felt out of whack the last couple of days.

The body is an amazing machine, and women's bodies are the most remarkable things of all. I mean, while I'm nursing, for example, I won't menstruate at all, just so that while Tallis depends on me for sustenance I cannot easily get pregnant again. How cool is that?!
Your body is readjusting; have patience with it.
