It's a nice problem to have

I'm being bothered by too much sun during the day. I gotta say, I can think of worse problems to have. ;)

Nonetheless, since I need my sleep in order to function for the next two weeks, tomorrow (or, rather, later today) I am going to try a stop-gap solution suggested by one of my coworkers. She told me that before she got light-blocking curtains, she made do with taping two black garbage bags over her window.

Since I have another ten days or so of this, and given that there is *no* guarantee that I'll be moving before my next night shift (in fact, it seems very unlikely), I'm going to try that tomorrow. I have nowhere to be all day long except in bed (unlike every other day this week), so getting a full 8-10 hours' sleep would be ideal.

Saturday and Sunday are going to be very short "nights" indeed, since I'm working twelve-hour shifts at work, which automatically cuts down on my at-home time. Twelve hours at work, plus at least an hour spent in public transit (usually more on weekends, when the service isn't as frequent), plus whatever time I spend bathing/feeding the cats/whatever, means I can count on a maximum of eight hours' sleep, supposing *nothing* else comes up, which is rare. So getting proper amounts of sleep during the week is essential.

Black garbage bags work, but I find they let in too much light since they are translucent. In the same situation I'd go with cardboard.
