Ohmygoodness! *dies*

Massive, massive spoilers for the series finale of Angel are contained in this post. Read no further if you do not wish to know what happens. Well, more or less. I won't be recounting anything in great detail, just my impressions, but bear in mind my impressions will very likely contain massive spoilers.

Okay, that has to be THE coolest ending they could've thought up, even if it was a cliffhanger (have I ever mentioned how much I hate cliffhangers? ^_-).

"I don't know about you, but I kinda want to slay that dragon!"

Hee! Yes, I know, that's not the exact quote, but ohmygoodnesswasitevercool!

And Wesley and Fred! Wesley and Illyria! Wah! *bawls hysterically and uncontrollably* I didn't even see their relationship unfold on screen, because I wasn't watching the series at that point, but the scene was wonderfully poignant, and the chemistry! The ambiguity was wonderful, because by the end of that scene you didn't really know if it was Illyria pretending to be Fred, or Illyria's true emotions showing through, or maybe just Illyria tapping into some of Fred's old emotions, and wah!

*dies*

I DON'T WANT WESLEY TO BE DEAD!

*wails*

Hey, don't look at me! I told you there would be massive spoilers in here, didn't I?

Oh, man... *bawls some more*

He was my favourite character, right from when he walked onto the show. I even liked him when he was on Buffy, even though he was a total git.

It is a very good way to go.

I hate cliffhangers, and part of me wants it all nicely resolved in a TV movie (I hear there are six planned Buffyverse/Angelverse movies, although David Boreanaz has an ego the size of Alaska and only wants to do big screen movies —hah! like anyone will want to cast him! He can't act to save his life!), but it was a damned good way to end it, just the same.

A dragon!

*eyes glow*

Connor/Angel thing v. cute. "You drop by for lunch and it's not the end of the world? Come on!"

Angel/Lindsay shippers all over the world must have melted into gooey puddles during the "I want you" scene, no matter how many disclaimers they put on it afterward.

Also, I'm not happy with Lindsay's "death." Prospero's Daughter is convinced he's not dead, and I'm inclined to agree, even though I never saw the other episodes in which his supposed powers of regeneration or what have you are shown to us. However, it seemed like a pretty cheap way to go for a recurring character, and one who's so wonderfully morally ambiguous.

And eep! Lorne! No! Leaving like that in the middle of the apocalypse? Disillusion? Abandonment? Say it ain't so! Oh, and: idiot! Never leave the gun behind! Never ever! They only come after you later! It just goes to show that killing is not his forte.

Oh, how could I forget! SPIKE READING POETRY! Eee! So funny! Not only that, but actually getting appreciated for his poetry! Eee! *squishes Spike with warm fuzzies*

Okay, I'm going to stop now, because this post is busily dying a horrible disjointed death. *puts post out of its misery*

But wah! Wesley! *bawls*
