Group therapy tonight, as usual. No major breakthroughs (big surprise there), but tonight's session was at least a lot less tense, since people are starting to get to know one another.
Dr. Dismissive was there (apologies and thanks to
altoidsaddict for coining the phrase, but since she no longer reads or uses LiveJournal, well, she's hardly in a position to call me on it ^_-), but seemed in a better mood after her two-week holiday. Maybe she was just PMSing when I saw her. Whatever.
Dinner with Parental Units. Went reasonably okay, except my mother is on an everything-associated-with-my-daughter-sucks kick. *shrug* She'll get over it. She gets that way when she's overtired. I suspect it's mostly the stress caused by my uncle's illness. She wasn't even all that bad tonight. Mostly because my father was there, and it's always less unpleasant when there are three of us: I only ever get really in trouble when I'm one-on-one with the Parentals.
I don't think I mentioned I'll be driving my mother to Connecticut at the beginning of December to see her brother. My father offered to do it, but grudgingly, so I stepped in instead. Hey, a trip's a trip, and she ought to be reasonably well-behaved, since I'm saving her all the air fare. Instead of close to $1000 it'll be about $200 worth of gas, give or take.
And now, a short rant: What the fuck is wrong with the people in Bluebook? No, really? As far as I can tell, they're all native English speakers except Sabrina, and yet
none of them can string together three comprehensible words! Okay, I'll amend that to the members of SG-16. I mean, it's not English! It's no known language, that's for sure. Punctuation, grammar, spelling, syntax, even skipping a goddamned line to allow for dialogue, it all escapes these people. Every single one of them!
*beats head against wall*
I keep telling myself I won't read their stuff anymore, but it's like a spectacularly gory train wreck that I can't help but gawk at. Also, their 1st lieutenant can't seem to keep her clothes on, nor can her player, from the OOC talk I've read. O_o
